CONCORD, NC (02-23-10) - The green flag will drop for the Tire Kingdom 150 presented by ModSpace at Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR) in less than a week on February 27th. Venturini Motorsports and Steve Arpin have been preparing for the second stop of the 20-race ARCA Racing schedule.
Steve Arpin will be driving the no. 55 Taylor Chassis Toyota. Venturini Motorsports and Steve Arpin are proud to announce Taylor Chassis as the primary sponsor for the ARCA Racing Series event at Palm Beach International Raceway.
Taylor Chassis is a top notch Open Wheel Modified program based out of Jonesboro, AR. Jeff Taylor, owner and builder of Taylor Chassis, began building dirt modifieds last year and has himself been racing for many years across the country. As one of the best Open Wheel Modified drivers in the country, Steve Arpin joined forces with Jeff Taylor Motorsports to help promote the new Taylor chassis in 2009.
“Jeff Taylor has always been eager to help with my modified racing. He went out on his own last year to start building his own cars and it was a perfect fit for the direction I was going with my career,” said Arpin. “Jeff really believes in his drivers and can easily spot true talent. He was the perfect guy to connect with to help excel my career.”
The race at Palm Beach International Raceway will be the 13th road course race ever scheduled in the ARCA Racing sanctioned events since 1953. Steve Arpin and Venturini Motorsports feel really strong going into the first of two road course races of the 2010 ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Mendards season. After practice earlier this month at PBIR, Steve Arpin headed back to the race shop in Concord, NC on the top of the speed charts.
Arpin was the fastest among the ARCA Series drivers who will compete in the 150 mile race on February 27th. Steve Arpin posted a top speed of 91.613 mph and lap time of 79.495. This will be Arpin’s second ARCA Racing road course race. “The Venturinis brought a great car to the Palm Beach test. It was the same car we ran at New Jersey in 2009. We broke on the first lap at the New Jersey race last year, so it was nice to turn some fast laps today,” said Aprin.
Steve has been doing a lot of pre-race preparing outside of the test session at PBIR. Arpin is currently in Sonoma, California at Chris Cook Performance to get one-on-one road race coaching from Chris Cook before the Tire Kingdom 150 presented by ModSpace. Cook, who turned some laps at the test session at PBIR earlier this month with Venturini Motorsports, is extending extra tips to fine-tune Steve’s road course skills.
The ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards will have the Tire Kingdom 150 presented by ModSpace on Saturday, February 27th. The race will begin at 1:00pm ET. The event will also be featured in live streaming audio on ARCAracing.com
